Delete your Noutez account

You can delete your Noutez account, and the data that comes with it, whenever you like. This page explains how, and exactly what happens.

How to delete your account

You can do this in the Noutez app or on the website.

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Open Settings and scroll down to the Danger zone.
  3. Enter your password to confirm, and choose Delete my account.

If you can't log in, email us at support@noutez.com from the address on the account and we'll delete it for you.

What happens next

  • Straight away: your profile and notes are hidden from everyone, and we email you to confirm.
  • For 30 days: you can change your mind. Log back in during this time and you can cancel the deletion.
  • After 30 days: an automated job permanently deletes your account and data. This can't be undone.

What is deleted

  • Your account and profile, including your email address, name, bio and avatar.
  • Every note and collection you created, including your private notes.
  • Photos you uploaded (your profile photo and photos on your notes), which are also removed from our image host.
  • Your likes, saves, follows and notifications, and the people you've blocked.
  • Your AI conversations, and anyone's AI conversations about your notes.
  • Reports you filed.
  • Comments you wrote on other people's notes are removed. Where someone has replied to a comment, it's replaced with "[deleted]" so the conversation still makes sense — your name and what you wrote are removed.

What we may keep

  • Server logs, which can include IP addresses and technical details of requests. These are deleted automatically after 30 days.
  • Copies in our routine backups. Backups are overwritten on their regular schedule, so deleted data can remain in one for a limited time before it disappears.
  • A minimal record of moderation reports about an account, where needed to protect other people or to meet a legal obligation.
  • Data that service providers we use (for example, our email and AI providers) already received. They handle it under their own retention terms.

More detail on how we handle your data is in our Privacy Policy.
